Small Groups:

About | Available Groups
--------------------------

Life's too difficult to go it alone. Or, as the Old Testament writer put it:

Though one may be overpowered,
Two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Eccl 4:12)

Small groups are a way to create a sense of community, regardless of where you're at in pursuing spiritual and emotional wholeness.

Emotional healing. Accountability. Spiritual growth.

These words describe the experience people in our church have had from being in small groups. Small groups can range from two to three people meeting regularly to pray, groups of 10 or more reading through the Bible, or even a bunch of people cooking together. Each small group has its own flavor but each possesses the same main ingredient-that of providing room for God to work in our lives.

''I've seen amazing things through small groups; through prayer people relieve themselves of the yokes that's been put on their shoulders, the community comes around them. That's awesome.''
     -- Larry Meyer

''I think God made us to be sharpened by each other. We're made to learn about God with each other, by interacting with each other. It's part of how we listen to God. ''
     -- Rachelle McCoy

''I think that small groups are very vital to our Christian walk because on Sundays you can pretty much pretend that everything's OK. On Sundays, I can hide. In small groups, there is more accountability. People look you in your eye and say, how are YOU doing? And I was undone because of the deliberate question. It just caught me.''
     -- Ginny Wenger

''For me, small groups have been places where when I have a hard time accepting myself, they'll tell you….no, you're wonderful, we love you, God loves you.''
     -- Nichole Slabach

''Through interpersonal relationships found in small groups and the experience of the living Christ through them I have grown in my ability to have meaningful and healthy relationships with everyone from the people at my work to my own wife. ''
     --Martin Carpenter
